Our story
The kitchen
on Kempegowda Road.
GYLT started in 2021 in a small Bengaluru kitchen. Two friends, a stone grinder, and a stubborn idea: that the sweets we grew up with could be made again — with better ingredients, less sugar, and the same joy.
It began with a jaggery ladoo. A grandmother's recipe, re-tested forty-six times until it held the same melt-in-the-mouth softness — but with organic jaggery, no refined sugar, and a protein boost from roasted nuts.
Then a ragi bar for a friend who was training for a marathon. Then a millet cookie that disappeared in a single cricket team meeting. Then word of mouth. Then a tiny storefront at 112 Kempegowda Road, and eventually — you, ordering online from your desk in Koramangala.
What we believe, in five lines.
If we can't pronounce it, it doesn't go in the kitchen.
Sweets are supposed to be joyful. We refuse to make joyless food.
Honest sourcing is a daily decision, not a marketing line.
Small batches taste better. They also let us listen to what people actually want.
If it isn't good for you, it isn't GYLT.
Two friends, one stone grinder, one jaggery ladoo.
